Tom Mills on History Channel

Hey friends and family...just a heads up.
I'm going to be on a History Channel show this coming Thursday, March 12, 2009. The show is called Warriors - Maya Armageddon. It airs at 10:00 P.M.
My role in the show was to teach the show's host, Terry Schappert, to throw atlatl darts (flexible spears thrown with a throwing stick... for those of you who dont' know). They flew me and my friend, Jim Winn (an incredibly good flintknapper) down to Guatemala back in December to film this. We stayed in a national park called Tikal - right among the Maya ruins. I also helped out teaching some stunt actors to throw atlatl darts here in Los Angeles where they did some "green screen" filming of fight scenes. The green screen is used when they are going to employ some computer graphics. It was a lot of fun too, but nothing compared to the trip to Guatemala.
The show was initially supposed to air a week later, but the History Channel folks apparently liked the Maya episode so much they wanted it to be the premier show for this new series. So now I'm scrambling to let friends and family know. Sorry for this mass Email.
Anyway, I hope I don't end up looking like a dope on the show. If so, I'll be embarrassed having alerted all of you to check it out.
Later....
Tom
